Design Role
The Marklin-class destroyer was designed for escort, patrol, and rapid-response combat during the Four Years War. FASA fleet lists place these hulls among the workhorses of the early retreat phase when Starfleet's mission was to slow the Klingon advance.
- Phase banks and torpedo armament in Axanar-approved CGI designs
- Fast and maneuverable compared to contemporary cruisers
- Common in FASA pre-war and early-war fleet rosters
Axanar Connection
A full CGI Marklin-class model was created for the Axanar production with approval from Alec Peters. The class bridges FASA apocrypha and the fan film universe — most famously through U.S.S. Xenophon under a young Lieutenant Garth.
FASA Sister Classes
Additional Four Years War classes documented in FASA's The Four Years War supplement include Sawyer-class (U.S.S. Gulliver), Bonhomme Richard-class cruiser (U.S.S. Bonhomme Richard, NCC-1712), and Larson-class destroyers engaged at Axanar.
Transcript & Broadcast Record
“I was on the bridge of the Xenophon. It was my first ship in the war — an old Marklin-class destroyer.”
