Overview

The NX-class was Starfleet's first Warp 5-capable starship design of the mid-22nd century. U.S.S. Enterprise (NX-01), commanded by Captain Jonathan Archer, served as the era's most famous vessel and a direct ancestor of later Federation hull philosophy.

Designed by Doug Drexler and John Eaves for Star Trek: Enterprise, the NX-class combined experimental propulsion with a lean, utilitarian hull that prioritized exploration over heavy combat armament.
